"Marshland: A Story of Utopia" is a series of textural, color-driven works that use distortion—like funhouse mirrors—to suggest that things may not be what they seem. Rooted in shoshin, the Japanese practice of beginner’s mind, the series grew from my attempt to release perfectionism and finish paintings by letting go of fixed judgments in favor of curiosity. The hope is that this approach—openness, play, and a willingness to see what emerges—can extend beyond the canvas and into life itself.
